If anyone is from the South... And they want to be an engineer. You should definately look into UAH. The University of Alabama in Huntsville. It is a wonderful school for engineer students. Thought I would just say that... : )

There are lots of things to consider when choosing a university:
*Vocational/2-year/4-year: What kind of school do you want to attend? What are your goals?
*Size: Do you want to go to a school with a large, spread-out campus or a small, contained campus? What is the student-to-faculty ratio? Do most classes have 30 students or 300? Remember that a large campus can still have small classes, and vice versa.
*Location: Do you want to be in the middle of an active city? Or do you want to be in the middle of a remote town? Do you want to be in the Northwest or the deep South? Do you want to be close to home, or as far away as possible? Try to narrow your choices by region or by urban/suburban/rural.
*Majors: Does the school provide the majors you're considering? If so, are those departments well-established, good departments at the school?
*Grades/Scores: Far less crucial, but still highly important to consider, are your GPA and SAT/ACT score. Compare yours to the range provided by the college. Do you fall within that range?
*Cost: Can you afford a particular school? Are you eligible for any national, state-wide, or college scholarships to help allay the cost?
If at all possible, it is best to visit the colleges you are considering. Take a tour of the campus, sit in on a class or two, talk to the students about their experiences at the college, and briefly explore the surrounding town. See if you can imagine yourself there. This will give you a chance to really see if the college is a good fit for you.

Is anyone out there familiar with Marist College in Poughkeepsie? If you are a student, what do you like the most about the school? Any dislikes?
Thanks.
Um... Not really. It is just a really good school for mostly all Engineering Students! It is ranked like one of the best in the south or something like that... I will ask and check to make sure so that I am not falsely advertising... lol
