Aaron,
Yet another feature request/suggestion. Has the use of a spell checker been kicked around the Study Curve table?

Saw that and used it too. Took me a minute to realize something had happened once I clicked on the Remove Group Members link.
Posted by: fdecker on February 06, 2008
I don't know if you saw that you can now remove members from your group.

This is another issue we have discussed at length. I will post this up in the Future of StudyCurve group and explain in detail and we can all discuss it.

Hi again. I just realized that my Group "Smartboard Users Group" is visible to everyone, even though I set it to private. Can you help me with that? If I go to www.studycurve.com, and before logging in, I can see my group listed in the "popular groups" section. If I click on it, I can see all the posts and questions. Should be private.

I have been a strong advocate of it. There is not a group on here about it, but if you could start a group, I would love to be a part of the discussion. Some of our team is very fearful of the copy right part of it (she came from the publishing industry) and I understand that litigious side of it as well, but I definitely think it would be a very useful tool.

Is there a discussion group in Study Curve where this has been debated? If so, I'd love to read about it. I would argue, as an educator, that is difficult to talk about "collaboration" without the ability to share documents and certain file types. Of course, you don't want Study Curve to become a place for HS students to share mp3 files, but certainly there is value in posting help documents, sharing PDF's, and even collaborating on a PowerPoint show or an Excel graph.

No not yet for several reasons:
-copy right issues
-cheating
This has been a long standing discussion with both sides having valid points...

Hey, is there a way for a group manager to attach documents like PDF, PowerPoint, etc. to a group page?
Posted by: fdecker on February 04, 2008
It's all fixed. There was an error on the mail server, every once in a while this happens for some reason.
Posted by: juke on February 04, 2008
That's interesting. Something must have happened as this worked just fine, but I see the same error your trainer sees. We will get it fixed.

Seems to be going well. One issue a tech trainer in our dept. showed me this morning. She was trying to send invitations using the "Invite a friend" button, but every time she does it, a message pops up that says "There was an error sending email to...". Ideas?

A couple of the changes we discussed should be complete within the next couple of days, the others are not far behind. How are things going?

We have tossed around the idea of having synchronous chat. Before we invested in the development of coding a chat section we wanted to make sure it would be used, which I think we could learn via a pilot program. Another addition we would like to make is a "white board" application where user could draw pictures to communicate. In terms of seeing who is "online" it is actually very inaccurate at best. Most of the sites that show this do not actually show an accurate representation.

Hi. Doing well. Chirs asked me to look into this site and the possibilites it has for Evergreen. You may have seen me in the office when you were here.
I like the site. It is easy to navigate and use. One of the first things I noticed and mentioned to Chris that would a very useful addition is the ability for synchronous chat. If you had a way for users to see who was "online" in Study Curve and linked to their areas of expertise, it would be very useful for students.

Hi Frank. I am actually the one who talked with Chris about this site. How are you doing?
We have discussed that and there was a reason we couldn't do it. However, there is a setting in your browser that will spell check while you type. I think it was much more simple to use the existing technology then to try and develop the technology. Hope this helps!
