Plane geometry:
This part of the geometry covers ideas or concepts that are plotted in an X-Y axis. Understanding these concepts is crucial to understanding the other aspects of geometry.

Solid Geometry:
This part of the geometry covers ideas or concepts that revolve or observed in real-world. Practical uses of solid geometry are used in Manufacturing of say you iPhone, PS3, or even in home building.

Plane geometry is the study of 2 dimensional shapes such as lines, circles, flat shapes that you can draw on a piece of paper. Solid geometry is the study of 3 dimensional shapes.
