I would actually have to say the Sydney Opera house. Just about everyone knows it.

I would have to agree that the most common answer would be Frank Lloyd Wright, but there have been many more talented architects who are less well known outside of the design world. Another one that comes to mind would be Le Corbusier, who was a leader in the International Style of design.

That's a tough one. If you are looking for the most common response from the average guy on the street, it would have to be Frank Lloyd Wright. Of course, he is a modern day architect and is probably the most familiar to people living today who have not had any training in architecture, or the history of architecture.
