What is the difference between an adverb and an adjective?

Actually, I do know the difference. I was simply showing someone how the question and tagging of questions works so I just posted a simple question. I should have closed the question.

Boy (well actually you are a man), you have graduated high school and is now in college and you don't know what the difference is!!!!
Well sometimes when I forget silly easy things I use the dictionary. I hope that you do not want to be an English teacher.

An adjective describe a noun. An example would be, The scarred boy had obviously been in a fight. (Scarred, would be the adjective describing the boy.)

An adverb describes a verb. An example would be, The boy ran quickly to make sure he reached the store before it closed. (Quickly, would be the adverb describing how the boy ran.)
