What is student life like at Washington State University in Pullman?
I am thinking about going to Washington State University in the fall and was hoping someone could give me an idea on what types of things I should bring with me. For example: what type of bedding, clothes, school supplies, etc. I should bring. I also wanted to know if there is a quick way to meet people once I move in.

Being in Eastern Washington, WSU has hot weather in the summer and cold, snowy weather in the winter, so bring clothes for all seasons. School supplies that you don't bring with you can be easily purchased on campus. There is a Wal-Mart in Moscow, ID, which is about eight miles away, where you can get supplies fairly inexpensively if you have a car or can find a ride over. If you are living in the dorms, there are usually events to get to know each other at the start of the year, and often there are campus wide events where you can go to meet people. Otherwise, get involved in clubs or rec sports to get to know people with similar interests. Good luck!

Thanks- that's good information. My cousin's son (from Seattle) is going to stay with us and shop for his supplies a few days before he moves into his dorm at Vassar. We live about 1/2 hr. from Vassar in New York. I suggested Bed, Bath & Beyond, but we also have a Target. Sounds like Target should be the first stop. Was at Wal Mart today and noticed they've upgraded their inventory - it's a lot nicer now and they have quite a large selection of bedding of course a ton of school supplies, but many look like for school kids, not necessarily college.

The key is to make sure you can find a local target. Target is your lifesaver when it comes to quick and easy dorm solutions. I used it to find coat hooks, bathroom supplies, storage units, a mirror, and other nice dorm room additions.

One of the things I found out the hard way was that you need extra long sheets for the dorm beds...I found out the hard way when I tried putting regular sheets on the bed!!
