Assignment Ideas for Programming
As a programming teacher in a high school, I am constantly on the lookout for new, creative and fun assignments for a programming class. The assignments have to be something that can be finished in about 3 or 4 hours worth of work. Any ideas?

What language do you use? I find a quick and easy problem that makes people think is asking them to write a program to output a basic calender. Even something as easy as giving the start day of the week and the end, so they don't have to do any heavy calender math.

Have you ever used a program called Lab View? It's not a traditional programming language but extremely popular for automation.
