Progressive Era, I need help!

During this era many changes in the structure of American socitey were sought by reformers. List at least six areas of reform progressive sought and explain the impediments that stood in their way? This is a class discussion question! I am so confused.

1. significant legislation establishing minimum safety and housing standards in tenements

2. rampant political corruption

3. immigrant family's exploitation and the unsanitary practices

4. Reform of monopolistic business

5. Women's right to vote.

6. During the onset of WW1 morality turned international to help Europe.

All of these changes where a big switch in the way people thought. In dealing with the problems of urbanization and industrialization, the country's democratic institutions had to address problems on a very local level. This caused major anxiety among the country's predominantly Yankee, Protestant middle-class because it introduced "disturbing" changes in their society.
