Question: The Catcher and the Rye.

The Catcher and the Rye.

At my school we are required to read various books well right now i am reading The catcher and the Rye. I just have a small problem i think the book is very good, i like it alot, but none of my classmates do and all there looking for is the answers. I would like to talk to someone about Holden and how i think that he is like J.D Salinger. Or maybe even someone to talk to about the book? If anyone has read it or can help...THANK YOU!

Different readers respond in different ways to different books. You have a positive response to the book. Perhaps there are traits in Holden that you see in yourself or someone you know. It is reasonable to explore the relationship between the author and the main protagonist but it is unwise to assume too much. What is important is that you continue the dialogue with the text with similar texts or conversations on forums such as these.
