Being an engineer, I am trying to complicate what I think the problem is getting at. I am thinking chemistry and molarity etc, however I think what you are looking for is just an algebra problem. So here is my attempt to explain:
Let x = amt of water required to make it to reduce the sugar to 5%
:
A simple equation:
.20(60) = .05(x+60)
:
12 = .05x + 3
:
12 - 3 = .05x
:
9 = .05x
x = 9/.05
x = 180 oz of water required
Does this make sense?
