I just wanted to know when school starts in different parts of the country?

I started on August 20th, most major universities in Colorado start on monday the 28th. I think this is the same with most public schools.

The elementary schools here on West Point started last week, while the cadets start class today. (New York) I think the rest of the state starts later though. I also remember schools in Alaska starting early because of the football season & snow. If they started later they wouldn't be able to play an entire season because of the snow.

In Washington State most school years begin the day after Labor Day, Sept. 4.
